Projects are based on research and focused on gender issues. Since 1992, DidiBahini has been providing training to NGOs, women's leaders and institutions in the areas of capacity building, gender advocacy and empowerment. Its action research project, Women in Health, Education, Environment and Local Resources, (WHEEL)uses the indigenous skills of women in the community towards empowerment through financial self-sufficiency. At the same time, it widens their knowledge on women's rights.
DidiBahini also teamed up with CNGO to implement gender in organizational capacity building. The Gender in Governance project empowered women leaders in different areas of Nepal to assert their rights and mobilise local resources for other disadvantaged population in their respective districts. The Peace and Development project gave the organisation an opportunity to make a significant contribution to ease the pain and difficulty of women armed-conflict survivors and empower them at the same time.
Currently, DidiBahini is working on three different projects. Political Empowerment of Women through Development Education (PEWDE) has given women in different project areas their own Resource and Learning Centre where they can access information and join training and workshop available to increase their knowledge.
Its Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Project (RWSS) attempts to address practical and strategic gender needs through improving the health situation of the people.
DidiBahini is working in a project called Lobby Document for Women's Political Participation in South Asia. The main purpose of this project is to try to unfold all the myths and find answers to those questions and come up with strategies to overcome the hurdles for South Asian women to participate in politics.
